What is Maya?
An overview of Maya — the platform for tracking and improving how AI assistants talk about your brand.
Updated 2026-10-12
Maya is an AI search visibility platform. It measures how AI assistants — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and others — answer the questions your customers ask, and whether your brand shows up in those answers.
Classic SEO tells you how you rank on a results page. AI assistants don't show ten blue links; they give one synthesized answer and mention a handful of brands and sources. Maya tells you whether you are one of them, how you are described, and what to do when you are not.
What Maya measures
Mentions and position
For every prompt you track, Maya runs the question against each AI provider on a daily schedule and records whether your brand was mentioned, where it appeared in the answer (first recommendation vs. a footnote), and which competitors appeared alongside it.
Citations
AI assistants back their answers with sources. Maya records every cited URL, so you can see which sites the assistants trust for your topics — and whether your own pages are among them.
Share of voice
Across all tracked prompts, Maya computes how much of the conversation your brand owns compared to competitors, per provider and per topic.
Sentiment
When your brand appears in an answer, Maya scores how it is described — positive, neutral, or negative. Sentiment is only measured on answers that actually mention your brand.
AI traffic signals
With integrations like Google Search Console and server-log exports, Maya connects the answers you see to the AI crawlers and referral traffic hitting your site.
What Maya does with the data
Measurement is the starting point. Maya turns the data into work you can act on:
- Action Plans — prioritized, concrete tasks generated from your visibility gaps.
- Maya Forge — AI-assisted content production targeting the topics where you are invisible.
- Reports — scheduled reports that summarize movement for your team or clients.
Who uses Maya
- Brands tracking their own visibility and running GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) programs.
- Agencies monitoring multiple client brands from one account.
- Content teams deciding what to write next based on where AI assistants lack good sources.
