Project settings, brand identity, and team

Brand tags, additional domains, team invites, and notification preferences — the Settings page explained.

Updated 2026-10-12

Settings is split into five tabs: General, Usage, Team, Notifications, Integrations. This article covers the parts that affect how Maya measures your brand and who can see the project.

Brand information

The General tab holds your brand name, alternative name, description, country, and website. These drive everything downstream — the brand name and its variants are what mention detection looks for.

Brand Tags (alternative names)

Up to 5 alternative spellings of your brand (abbreviations, old names, concatenations). These directly change mention detection, so they're deliberately locked down: they're edited by the Maya team — contact support to change them. A wrong tag can inflate or deflate your mention rate overnight, which is why this isn't self-serve.

Additional Domains

If your brand lives on more than one domain (country sites, a docs subdomain, a separate shop), add them under Additional Domains. Citations of any listed domain count as your citations — without this, your own pages show up as "Other" in Citation Share.

Competitors

Competitors are managed on the dedicated Competitors page, not in Settings. That list ("your radar") defines the Share of Voice math, the Overview comparison table, and competitor charts everywhere. Keep it honest: list who you actually compete with in AI answers, which is sometimes different from who you compete with in court.

Team

  • Team Members — invite teammates by email. Seats are unlimited on every plan.
  • Domain Access — optional auto-join: anyone signing up with your company email domain joins the project automatically. Turn this on for convenience, off if you share a domain with teams who shouldn't see the data.

Notifications

The Notifications tab controls which emails you receive (report-ready notices, weekly summaries, alerts). Preferences are per user, not per project.

Usage and billing

The Usage tab shows your live quota meters and the buy extra prompt runs option — see Plans, quotas, and usage.

Danger Zone

Project deletion and other destructive actions live at the bottom of Settings and are restricted to the project owner. Deleting a project removes its tracked history — there is no undo.
