Connecting Google Search Console

Link GSC to cross-reference your AI visibility with real search demand.

Updated 2026-10-12

Google Search Console tells Maya what people already search for around your brand and which of your pages Google surfaces. Connected, it powers prompt suggestions, opportunity detection, and the search-demand side of action plans.

What Maya reads from GSC

  • Queries — the search terms your site appears for, with clicks and impressions.
  • Pages — which URLs receive that demand.

Maya reads reporting data only. It never modifies your Search Console property, and the connection can be removed at any time.

Connect

  1. Open Integration in the sidebar and choose Google Search Console.
  2. Sign in with a Google account that has access to your property. Any permission level that can read reports is sufficient.
  3. Maya matches your project's domain to your GSC properties automatically. If several properties match (domain property vs. URL-prefix), pick the one covering the project domain — the domain property is usually the right choice.
  4. If no property matches automatically, the property picker lists everything your account can see; select the correct one manually.

A successful connection starts the initial import; recent history appears within a few minutes and fills in from there.

After connecting

  • Prompt suggestions begin using your real queries — questions people already ask Google are strong candidates for AI-assistant tracking.
  • Opportunities surface queries where you have search demand but no AI visibility (or vice versa).
  • Overview gains the search-demand context next to your AI metrics.

Troubleshooting

The property list is empty. The Google account you signed in with has no GSC properties. Ask a property owner to add you (Restricted access is enough), then reconnect.

Connected, but no data. New GSC properties need a few days of Google-side data before there is anything to import. Also confirm the property actually covers the project domain (http vs https, www vs apex, subdomains).

The connection shows as inactive. Google access can be revoked from the Google side (password change, admin policy, permission removal). Reconnect from the Integration page — history resumes without gaps for the period GSC retains.
